FAQ Frequently Asked Questions

What is your booking procedure?

To make a reservation, please fill out the form under the "Reservation" tab on our website. Once we receive your request, we will send you a proposal based on the information you have provided. We believe in human interaction and may also call you to answer your questions and provide you with better customer service.

Once we have agreed on the terms and conditions, we will send you an official rental contract with your information for your reservation protection. You will need to confirm your reservation by making the first payment, as no reservation is official until the first payment is made. Upon receipt of your contract, please send the first payment.

We will also send you the usual regulations, and once we have received all payments, we will send you the wifi door code via text message with the relevant details and procedures.

What are the terms and methods of payment?

We require a 50% down payment of the rental amount upon the reservation if the date of possession of the chalet versus the date of the contract is more than 30 days. The balance should be paid no later than 30 days before your arrival. If the rental is made within 30 days, a first 50% will be requested on the date of the contract, and for the remainder, there will be a payment schedule, which will be concluded with the owner.

We require a security deposit of $2000, which must be made via interactive transfer or cash. In some cases, depending on the nature of your group, the security deposit may be revised downwards based on certain factors.

We accept and prefer Interac transfer or cash (no fees). Credit card payments via SQUARE are also accepted, subject to certain conditions.

Why don't you have a price list?

We do have a standard price schedule. However, it is not always possible to establish a fair price due to various factors, such as the number of people in the group, the number of rental days, the rental period (weekdays/weekends), and the season.

What are your arrival and departure times?

Our check-in time is from 5:00 p.m., and check-out time is no later than 11:00 a.m. If you require an early arrival or a late departure, please let us know in advance, and we will try to accommodate you for an additional fee. However, we reserve the right to refuse early arrival or late departure based on ongoing operations. Please note that it may take between 4 and 6 hours for us to prepare the chalet for the next guest, which is why we require sufficient time for cleaning and presentation.

What is the cancellation policy?

The cancellation policy is strict. Once the first deposit of 50% of the rental fee is sent, it becomes non-refundable. The remaining 50% of the rental fee must be paid a maximum of 30 days before the rental date, and it also becomes non-refundable upon payment. In short, no refunds are provided if a customer cancels, except for the security deposit sent with the second and final payment. It is essential to understand that re-letting a chalet with ten people is often difficult in the 30 days before the rental date. Additionally, several requests may have been refused to honor the customer's contract, resulting in considerable loss (unlike a $200 hotel room, where the owner only loses $200 in the worst case). These strict rules are in place to account for these factors.

What is the Covid policy?

It is the customer's responsibility to inform themselves and follow public health recommendations for gatherings in the region of the rented chalet on the date of the first transfer and for the rental date. Please refer to the official website for the latest COVID-19 related updates. Please note that unless the government closes the paths, making access to the chalet impossible, no refunds will be provided. The customer is renting the chalet knowingly of the risks and assumes full responsibility if the pandemic gains ground or if a member of their group was struggling with COVID-19 before entering the cottage.

Are the chalets non-smoking?

Yes, all of our chalets are non-smoking. We have provided ashtrays outside for smokers, but it should be noted that the regulations on this subject are strict.

Are pets allowed?

Generally, pets are not allowed. However, there might be a slight chance for exceptions depending on the specific chalet and the animal's details (to be discussed orally with the owner). A fee of $50/day/animal applies if accepted.

Is firewood available on site for the fireplace or campfire?

Yes, most of our cabins offer firewood on hand at the same cost as hardware stores.

Is the chalet self-sufficient in the event of a power failure?

Le Summum and Le Luxor are autonomous and have all the necessary amenities to sustain a comfortable living during a power outage. However, Chalet des 3 is not self-contained.
